Hosted by Alan Livingston & Yael Greenberg, we will listen to, then explore and discuss, Dr. Stephen Arnoff’s Rock and Roll Midrash talk on Bob Dylan:
“Where do visionaries of rock and roll and the wisdom of ancient texts meet in times of fear, isolation, and the radical disruption of life as we knew it before COVID-19. Jewish teachers have been employing Midrash — the art of probing sacred text for deeper meaning — for thousands of years.”
Dr. Stephen Arnoff is currently CEO of the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center, home of signature programs of Jewish learning and culture including the Conservative Yeshiva. He holds a doctorate in Midrash and Scriptural Interpretation from the Jewish Theological Seminary as a Wexner Graduate Fellow, was a post-doc at the NYU School of Law, and publishes, lectures, and teaches internationally on creative topics, specializing in religion and rock and roll.
